Welcome

I’m Helene Leane, an artist living and working in Dungog, a rural town in the Hunter region of NSW. Here in the quiet folds of the landscape, I’ve found my voice as a regional woman in the arts. It’s a life shaped by colour, connection, and country – where creativity and community go hand in hand. I often work in mixed media – combining encaustic, photo media, and traditional techniques to explore colour, shape, and texture.

About

After completing degrees in Fine Arts and Teaching at the University of Sydney, I returned to my art practice in 2009 and eventually settled in Dungog. Here, I’ve found a strong connection to place – its mountains, light, and sense of community all feed my creative process.
